Since genetically modified food and feed are authorised to be placed on the market of the European Union for a limited period of time, applicants should ask for the renewal of the authorisation following the provisions laid down in Articles 11 and 23 of Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003. The present document provides guidance to applicants on the most appropriate way to prepare and elaborate their applications for the renewal of authorisation of genetically modified food and feed. It provides instructions on how to structure the applications and indications on the type of information and data needed to support applicants requests for authorisation renewal.
